When I mentioned this to PJ MOTORSPORT, they had seen themselves increases in power with the spacers fitted, I have one m,yself but not going to fit ituntil I can do back to back dyno runs, to check.

are these the spacers that just space the plemun out or are these the ones that change the angle slightly?

My one is about 12mm thick and flat not angled, so just spacer.

All they do is increase the distance between the plenum and intake trumpets for added capacity..

Extra cap equals more flow so can't be a bad thing

I might try one myself

what do you have to do to fit them is it easy, what about the injectors and fuel rail?

You would have to have some little brackets made upo so it pushes on the injectors, by means of the two original brackets.
I can't see the benefit myself as forced induction, it would mean that cossie got something wrong, or at least not optimal, but most likely was done for a nice standard driving engine, more to do with refinement ?
I paid £30/40, can't remember now!!

Cossie did get something wrong...the inlet plenum...hence the drasticaly modded rs500 item that replaced it for proper power capabilities. Ive got a 14mm spacer fitted on mine...fits straight on, the injector rail fits on by reverse bolting it up at the original points along with a 8mm(ish) spacer fitted between rail bracket and plenum cover. tbh tho their main restriction is in the elbow...im gonna look at a few swedish styles plenums later this year to over come this.

Nah it would be pretty pointless doing before and after runs as I also changed every bit of the engine at the same time...I think the jump to a T4 may have slightly hindered the power graphs alone

Here's a pic of spacer fitted...allen bolts are teh easiest to use as you can guid them through with the allen key, can be fiddly.....sorry for poor quality pic

Wouldn't a spacer increase "lag" very slightly? In the way that large intercoolers intrinsically do?

It increases flow so that should counteract the very small increase in volume.

The only thing is that if your battery is in the boot you have really not gained anything imo (only to be different )

Default spacer

a friend of mine had a 12mm spacer fitted to his 2wd saff and also fitted a 4wd inlet manifold which he had polished inside. the car made 402bhp before it was fitted and after made 428bhp. we did this all in 1 day to see what effect it had on the power and after the 1st run we thought it was to good to be true so did some more runs on the rollers and it came back roughly the same.

As you've said chap...to be different as the cossie world seems to be getting very much standardised imo and also less chance's of fuel smells in the cabin this way. The battery is now in a battery box and situated in the spare wheel well.
