Default intercooler

i have a xs power rs 500 type intercooler on my 3 door, seems fine only prob was the silicone hoses you get should be for a xs power as the intercooler inlet hose is different to some rs 500 intercoolers, hope this makes sense, cheers dave.ps paul from roose sorted me out no probs.

I have an XS radiator, and it fits and works fine.
I heard about the intercooler that is not so good, and the same for the exhaust manifold which dont fit.

I think ROOSIE off here is using these and he says they are a ace fit apart from pipes being a pain, and they work very well, he is using the intercooler, RS500 type.

i'm running a xs rad and intercooler combo on my sapph and it works and fits fine but like people have said you need to get longer hoses made because standard ones don't reach the intercooler. i solved the inlet to intercooler hose problem by putting a bigger s/s "T" in for the dunp valve the only little thing with that is my hose from the inlet to the T is a blue samco but my hose from the T to the the intercooler is a black rubber hose. i was going to get S/S boost hoses made to measure but now i'm selling the car i refuse to spend anymore money on it lol (AAS in newcastle quoted me £100 for all 3 boost pipes made in S/S if thats any help...)

Got the xs rad in my 3dr,perfict fit, sold a 500 cooler to ksa kev off here, the problem is they are designed for the usa market xr4i turbo, with the 2.3 ohc engine,so pipes are at wrong angle on cooler, but look as well made as the forge on i have in my 3dr

Ive also got the xs radiator on my 3dr...as said, perfect fit in every way(actualy a better fit than the oe rad when used in conjuction with a pace intercooler)...cant praise it enuff for the 140quid inc delivery that I paid for it new. Funny how its almost identical to the airtec turbo pre rad ive got...same quality welds, core looking almost the same and the top plates with the company names on is even in the same type face and size ie xspower on top of the rad is identical to airtec on top of the pre rad??

Stu.

it cost me £230 for the rad and intercooler, £20 for a bigger T piece and £30 for the turbo to intercooler boost pipe.... can i buy a pace intercooler and rad for £280? and please tell me where from....

if i had of got big shiney S/S boost pipes (bear in mind i didnt even need the turbo to air filter pipe) i was more than happy to pay £330 for a rad, intercooler and some quality shiney pipes, as i'm sure a hell of alot of other people would be. doubt you could get all that engine bling for £330 if you were buying pace....

Default xs power rad

My rad fits fine and went straight in - not sure how it disspates heat and how that affects the fan sensor though?? I ended up with two as the manifolds didn't fit and they send me a rad as payback (I tried two manifolds - see other thread for pics). Easy to deal with incidentally. Have my other rad for a spare unless I get offers for it - brand new in its box??

^^^ the fans cut in around the same temp but seem to stay on longer, personaly I think its down to heat soak into the fan switch from the metal rad end tank. Running temps on mine seem good.

IMO from what i have seen, the build qaulity of the xspower gear is
pretty shoddy. items that dont fit properly ie exhaust manifold,i/c blah blah, hence no research or development has gone into any of their products, even their turbos are rubbish. i would personally go an get me a pro alloy or pace item the qaulity is just so much better

IMO you couldnt get another further from the truth with regards these radiators. The welds were as neat as that of the welds on my pace intercooler...and the fit was superiour to that of the oe radiator it replaced when used in conjunction with the pace intercooler. And as the XS radiator only cost me 140gbp inc postage, I fail to see where the pace or pro-alloy radiators justifiy the extra 200-220gbp.

Some other items that xs market do have a dodgy reputation and tbh you wouldnt find a xs turbo fitted to my car as a result.

im glad your experiecne with your xs power items have bee good for
you but from what i can tell from the xs items ive seen so far
is that the quality of my pace gear is far superior to that of xs power.
im not saying they dont work properly its just thier build qaulity im not
a fan of.

hi thanks everyone for the replies seems to be mixed opinions ?
i have an xs power turbo fitted on my cosworth and i can honestly say it goes like stink, ive done roughly 3000 miles peaking at 25 psi and holding 22 psi and its still perfect. checked it only last week no end float on shaft what so ever. and no oil in inlet or outlet housing of turbo.
acts exactly the same as a t35 with .63 housing just a fraction of the cost.
im still debating whether to get xs power intercooler / rad combo though ?
im on 4 x 4 intercooler at the moment but on its limit i think.
greys and msd mapped chip for 400 bhp at the ready !
anyone got any charge temps for the xs intercoolers at around 28 psi with t35 size turbo ? thanks everyone for all info so far
