Default Is my starter motor about to fail?

On startup, the motor kind of clicks a couple of times loudly, whines a little, takes a second or two longer to start than normal.

check the battery voltage first
it might not be kicking out enough power to give the starter the kick to spin

also check the leads to the starter

The battery is new, so I'll check the leads.

Hi mate - I assume that the motor is tight? Mine somehow came loose a few years back after Ford's replaced it... wasn't dissimilar to the noise you mention. Wasn't too loose either incidentally - had to be up close to see it.

Cheers,

Andy
