CTS, classic this is.
A new one is about Ł10 from MATT LEWIS 01922 692424.
Put this in check the wiring to it carefully, the reset your CO to 2-2.5% CO, it will, then sail through.
The CTS or COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR is the main corrective factor for the CO(mixture), ie it determines about 90% of it, with little trims from other inputs like air temp sensor.

No probs matey, though you didn't love me anymore!!
You need a gastester/metre to read what it actually is, if a freindly MOT place they will be more than happy to do it for you maybe a few quid ?
Just take off the cover over the ecu and there you will see a screw, this is your CO screw, so hook up for the emissions test and then tweak to get reading, you have to give it around 5 seconds after each turn to sort itself out, then just turn until set.
Believe me from your co it will be so much nicer to drive when set correctly, as 5.8 is like having the choke on!!
Let us know how you get on,
tabetha

Do you have to reset the timing after adjusting the co ?

my cossy has just failed MOT on emmisions and mine were only 3.5 i argued that this mixture is what my car is happiest at and the tester said get it below 3 and he would be happy so is it 3 or 3.5%

Without a shadow of a doubt it is 3.5%.
No timing does not need resetting as it is not adjustable, CPS does it for you.

right.put my new coolant temperature sensor on 2day on went to a local garage for a gas test, using the screw on the ecu i could only bring the co down to around 5 then it starts to climb back up .spoke to neil at carwise,he told me to be careful with the adjustment screw as it can adjust the fuelling as well.gunna have to take it to carwise i think and see if they can sort it out.i really fuckin hate my saff sometimes! thanks 4 ur help though tabetha, much apprecaited

I thought the C02 screw adjusted the fuel mixture right across the rev range? Thus perhaps making it lean further up the revs if taken down low on idle?

Correct me if i'm wrong.
