This is the story.......

Basically what has happened is i sold someone of here some tyres(6x 225/40/18 michelin partworns) for £150 now when he went to get them fitted apparently only 2 were any good so he rang and i said not to worry i'll help you out with some more i get which a month later i haven't got still.
He has text me today wanting some more tyres or a refund so i ask for the tyres and i would happily refund him no worry's,i was even prepared to go and fetch them which is a 180mile round trip,but he has chucked them away??? because i don't know him from adam and he could of just sold them on i refused to refund him because he has thrown the tyres away.

Am i being a twat or what?? i never told him to throw away the tyres when he first rang but also never told him to keep them.

The best bit is his mate who i won't name and is well known on here rings me off his own back and gives it the big one saying he's goner sort it out and puts the phone down on me?? WTF is all that about??

So any help would be greatfull

Why exactly where they no good?

 

yes he has ,,,, the full story .
He rang you told you the tyres where fucked and you did say no probs i will sort you 2 more tyres,,, A month later you still havent contacted him so he contacts you to see whats happening , you then tell him you want the old tyres back ,,,, you should have said this at the time but you didnt ,, so as they are fooked he didnt take them away from the tyre firm that was fitting them .
Ian Brown tyres of malton are prpared to confirm the tyres were scrap ,,
I rang you because i gave the bloke your number and told him you are a decent bloke and you would look after him ,, now you have to give a refund you dont want to your not happy ,,, how would you feel if i did this to you ?????

 

I always work that if any thing is brought and is no good then return the goods and a refund will be made.

Surely all places work like this????

No need for people to be some sort of gangster and give it on the phone tho is there?? i now have doubts about taking my car to shows incase it gets key'd or sumat

I will give my word that the tyres where split , the bloke is a decent guy who has said all he wants is either 2 more tyres or his money back ,,I dont think this is unfair ,,if you wanted to see the tyres you should have come to look at them if you had any doupt or at least asked him to keep them , but nothing was said about this and a month further still no contact from you .

 

I defenatly wouldn't come on the phone giving it the large paul,like i said on the phone mate manners cost fookall, AND when i was on my way to you he rang about them and i said i would pick them up and refund him but he said it didn't matter and to just sort him with some more tyres which i haven't had yet??

 

I would not refund any faulty goods without the faulty goods being returned to me.

Anyone expecting any trader to do so is a fool IMO.

In fact if anyone knows any trader prepared to refund people without the item in question being return can they let me have their details?

Thats good news then because if anything did happen to me or anything that belongs to me i would know who it was because i have no enemies what so ever.Trying to be some gangster saying you'll sort it puts alot of thoughts in peoples minds mate and its not big or clever

 

If you whant to deal with selling parts etc to people then you have to be aware that you may sell faulty goods and have to be prepared to sort a problem like this .
As i keep saying you should have come to see the tyres if you wanted to or told him to keep them but all you said was dont worry mate i will sort you 2 new ones out .

TBH, if you rang any shop, be it a car parts accesories shop or Boots chemist, they would want the faulty goods to be returned before refund surely??

 

In all due respect mate i said i would come and get the tyres when he first rang when i was on my way up to you and i also said i would refund him no problem but he said it didn't matter??? just to look after him when i got some next.

 

Well if you were happy with that then why not lookafter him as he said ,, but you told me tough shit he was getting nothing

I told you he was getting NO money WITHOUT the tyres.

Its his fault for saying it don't matter when i was on my way upto you.He could of had all is money back when i picked them up then.

The only reason i am so upset about this is i can see boath sides of the story , and also know the tyres where scrap , so i am the only person who can realy comment , but as you arnt going to put it right i will say no more .

 

Far as i can see Katie is happy to give money back if goods are returned, exactly like anyone else would.

So what ya saying then is that if i purchased an engine or anything for that matter you would refund me without the goods??? i don't know any of you lot so i find it hard to trust you.

 

KT cos has a point there lets say the engine was knackered but you thought it was in good nick, and you put it all in and it smoked and rattled so you took it out and threw it in the skip would you then give a re fund without having the engine back?

 

There is no point in going into different cases ,,, The two men spoke about the tyres and it was agreed that he would replace the two tyres ,, i honestly would not expect anyone to drive 2 hours to show me the two tyres ,
And Ian you say thought it was in good nick ,,,, If there was a problem i would have gone over straight away and looked at the engine and sorted the problem , but an agreement was made without any mention of keeping the tyres for inspection
Also two tyres is a little different to a engine ,

As i have said I KNOW BOATH SIDES you dont thats why i am defending the bloke who bought the tyres ,
I have had no problems with KTCos , hE has bought parts from me , but can anyone sit back and say nothing when they know the truth

 

Suppose that gives you the right to F and blind at me down the phone too hey paul

And as a trader who knows all about this thing you should of advised him to keep the tyres if he wanted his money back in which he clearly said he didn't want in the first place.

Difficult one........but the ONLY solution to this situation is that KTCos gets him 1 tyre and then go seperate ways......both are at fault here..so that is the fairest solution.

As I have said ,You said no worries you will simply replace the tyres , so thats what he thought was happening , you never asked him to keep them,
Plus why should i advise him all i knew was you were going to replace them ,,why should i have doupted this and started to worry about proof .

As i keep saying i am only getting involved because i know the full story ,
But if you dont want to sort it then no loss to me ,, you brought it on here not me .
As for the other comment from davS2 , I do see the point but if i say to a customer dont worry i will replace it i do , and i would hope my word is enough for my customers, and i am shure it is ,if i wanted proof of faulty goods i would advise the customer as soon as i know there is a problem ,

 

KT....you sold 2 duff tyres!!!!Wether you knew it or not...it needs sorting and as you have a dissagreement i'd just swallow it and supply one tyre...and let him pay for another!

Unfortunately i haven't had anymore in that size but when i do he would be the first person i'll ring.

By the way phil there were 4 fooked tyres not 2. And can you send me 8 greys cause i'm going to sell them all and then ring ya to tell you there shit can i have a refund,and if you give me another 2 to keep the peace i'll be fookin quids in!

Also Paul when i spoke to him on the phone after i'd spoke to you he said it wasn't a problem he wasn't bothered and said to forget about it?

Anyway you have stated you wont help to sort it so thats that , I shall mind my own from now on and just worry about my own deals ,, We are not perfect none of us but i like to think we can all sort problems out together

 

I did ask to come and collect which i would of also had a good look at them but he said it don't matter???? we was both happy with this.
