Had a bit of an unlucky night back in january, went to the pictures one sunday night came back parked my car up in the usual spot, come in doors and looked out my bedroom window and to my horror she was on fire !!

so i had to work out what it would cost to rebuild or buy a new motor and with my bro being able to do the work i set to rebuilding it, heres a few pics of cleaning it up and fitting some new panels

Well he got the lines to match again being's he had to fit a new front panel were the fire brigade prised the bonnet open and stuffed it and 2 new wings were they where cooked out of shape, then filled the ford badge on the bonnet and high build primed it,

I had to source another wiring loom and dash, all under bonnet components.
At the time i thought the engine would of been finished off and i was gutted as it was a zvh and went like stink, here's a pic of the engien bay getting back up toghether and the lump looking like a piece of toast !

Got my hands on some interior parts including some new inserts for my half leather front seats, and after pulling the motor down it just needed some new gaskets and a clean and re-paint,


Ive included a pic of the passenger side rim as it was black so i got it bead blasted and my bro painted that for me so thing are finally getting there now just smells a bit inside

I've always wondered with fire damaged shells, do they lose any strength in the chassis legs after getting so hot? Do they become brittle when the cold water from the fire engine hits the hot metal?

My little bro posted this topic so all of you know how much work ive had in rebuilding his rs after the fire damage. Well he has bought me a new set of rims for all the work so i thought i'd share a few pics with you
