Default Sierra boot locks - cable pull

Does anyone know if a saph boot pull will work on a 3dr?

i had the boot lock smoother over and was gonna fit a electronic pop like the mk3 fezzers use, but now i cant be arsed.

so, how hard will it be to fit the lever and cable, or shall i just fuck that all off and use a pair of locking areo catches on the tailgate?

the latter gets my vote lol

Depends if theres room to fit the 90 spec lock/latch in the 3 door tailgate.

DOn't know about 90 spec saffs, but when I tried sticking the lock from a 90 spec Sierra hatch into my 88 Saff, it wouldn't fit because the 90 spec locks are completely different in size and shape, so you may be better off looking at a hatch for the source of the new lock.

the cables are easy enough, you just need to replace the mechanism

i've got the cable and the fuel flap but not the boot release, but all you need is a 90 spec onwards sierra hatch to rob it from down the scrappy

Seens as it's more hassle than its worth for me to convert my Saff, I have a 90 spec hatch ready to go off to the great ironmonger in the sky, with the lever, cable, latch and lock, etc.

If you want it...

All of the Mk1 XR4is had the electronic boot release as standard. But, when the solenoids started to go, lots of them got standard locks fitted by cheapskate owners or even just had the switch removed.

The Mk2 badge-engineered 2.0 5 door XR4i was just an ordinary Sierra with the standard mechanism.

go down maplins, they sell a universal liner actuator for £14,

ive done three boots with these now, and you can set the arm to push or pull.

very easy and takes about 2 hours including the wireing,

do it proper dude
