i looked very closely at them before buyin summit else (the one i wanted was just out of my price range
)
there is a 2.0 turbo version with the same engine as the impreza (think the management system is slightly different tho)
the one u want is the 3.0 (or was it 2.5??) twin turbo which has 4x4 and 280bhp as std
bloody good cars, and more reliable than the impreza

Excellent cars, as are Subarus in general.
The twin turbo is still the same EJ20, 2.0 engine as in the Impreza albeit with 2 turbochargers, available on import only, rated at 280bhp.
All the larger cc engines, 2.5 and 3.0 will most likely be UK based cars. None of the UK cars, after 94/95 are turbocharged.
Only the pre 94 car was the single turbo car, which was rallied with great success, and saw Colin McCrae rise to fame.

One of my best mates has a K plate single turbo version..Runs a bar on a TD05 turbo with zorst, filter and boost limit removed and ran a 14.0@100mph at pod and he bought it for a grand, didn't spend much on the mods either as he already had the turbo..quick for the cash.
Very good handling car with uprated suspension and a nice drive but gearshift is looooong and the interior in the early models is disgusting to put it nicely. Bottom ends are apparently considerably stronger then the impreza lump according to several leading suburu tuners.

My g/f and I have one of these. Its on a 97 plate. Its the RX saloon so pulls nicely. Its a 2.5 petrol. Only downside is it is an auto!
There are a lot about over here and a guy I work with has the B4. That is an awesome car.
Ours has been in the family since new and had no major problems and now has 170K on the clock. Well built and definately worth the money IMO.
