wouldnt go any wider than 7j on any rims for a S2 to be honest with you, but otherwise as above

SafeChav I found that (With 16" rims) a 205 tyre tramlines less on a 7.5 inch rim than with a 7.

You do run into ever so slight rear arch clearance problems though, especially with a rear disc conversion

With a 16" rim, a 195/45/16 on a 7j at ET35 shouldnt catch the arch even with rear discs unless the car is really low.

Ive got 7x17's with a 40mm offset and rear disc's, it is rather low 25mm lowered springs but they seem to have shrunk over the years

I cant get my finger between the arch and tyre on the back, cant get any coont in the back but it doesnt rub with 2 in the front

I have noticed springs tend to drop more over the years aswell........only natural i suppose though.

So what happens when you get some fitties wanting to get in your car, do you grin and bare the scrubbage?
