Default OFFICIALLY....this is the end of my car now!

Some of you may or may not be aware in the last 5 months i had an attempted break in on my Cabriolet, and someone did actually break into my Orion but failed to steal it.

Walked out of the house yesterday morning to find this:

Words can't express how pissed off i am with it all now, the damage just looks malicious to me, theres no possible reason for cutting the top of the roof........

I've lost all faith in it now and i'm just going to get rifd of it i think

Stavros, maybe your right! The only thing i would say though is the orion wasn't broken into here if you remember, theres of obviously something about the cabriolet that appeals to them as the Orion was sat on the road and they didn't go for that after

BillyCabrio, it does have an alarm but being as the car has been sat dormant i disconnect the battery as it would obviously go flat, and the alarm wouldn't of stopped them slashing the roof anyway. I'll keep you posted i may well break it now, too many bits on it to sell as it is

The alarm wouldn't of woken me up i guarantee that and it wouldnt of prevented any damage they only go off when they gain access, unless you have dual prox which i don't

Fuck knows what to do i really have lost all faith now, those mohair roofs are mega bucks, that was a fucking spanking roof

wankers

are you insured on it as your insurance will cover you for the damages

then get an alarm with proxy settings so and connect the alarm to air horns

they will wake you and the street up

not insured as its not being driven and even if it was i wouldn't claim, i only buy insurance because its a legal requirement.

The cars not worth enough to justify it and i try not to shell out loads on cars should the worst happen.....which in this case it has.

An alarm with proxy settings, can you tell me some more?

with proxy settings

basically its a sensor that if someone gets to close it beeps ( clifford had a talking one which was very loud and worked)

if that person doesnt move away after the 3 rd beep usually then the alarm will go off

but set it up to the siren and air horns then they will know

i will have it on my toad as you can get them but also and internal siren same as under bonnet one so if they do get into my car they are going to have a head ache

That's shit!
Surely worth at least sticking a second hand roof on it rather than binning the whole car though?!

Beyond repair sadly, the cover is trashed!

Been looking around its Ł175 for a replacement mohair cover, not as much as i thought but i still resent spending the money, chances are it'll happen again.

Daz........fuck knows......all i know is the car came off the drive last weekend for the first time in a while and now its been broken into again, i think its being watched to be honest! Shit loads of kids round here these days and the police are always about aswell, its turning into a shit hole.

rs shawn, i've got a garage but because of how things are at the moment i cant get a car in there, i was about to strip the car down to a bare shell aswell and use a car cover so i could have the bodywork done...........bit late now though.

Pretty sure its going to be sold now.......

Really sorry to see what's happened to your car mate. I know what it feels like to have a car trashed.

Don't let it spoil your plans though. Can't you swap a second-hand frame and roof onto it?

Could you mount one of those security lights on the front of the house that would light up when anyone came up the drive? They'd soon leg it if they lost the cover of darkness..

Shockin, sorry to see that Andy, if i were you' i'd duck tape the roof until such a time your actually using the car, then buy a new roof then, as you say chances are it'll happen again, new window, what - tenner max? dont let the pricks put you off!

did they actually take anything or attempt to get it running?

prob cut the roof hoping to get a hand in then realised they'd have to smash the window

I really dont get why people do this kinda thing
the damage 2 ur roof just looks pointless ant as if they can get in to the car through their,
U spend all ur time n hard earned cash on makin ur dream car n some twat who lets be fair couldnt afford or even have the brains 2 make a car look that good comes along n decides 2 spoil it 4 u

I know at the MOMENT ur really pissed off but i wouldnt let them beat u fella, if u sell or even worse break the car ur going 2 b the 1 thats loosin out m8 not them!

save ur pennys 4 a new roof, replace ur glass pick ur self up a clifford concept alarm up with prox sensor, n enjoy the car when u put it back on the road,

N a added bonus try n find the scum that has done this n

Well everyone ive shown the pictures too says the roof damage looks malicious, and theres multiple slashes in the 2 areas i really do think it was done out of spite.

The car has a cat 1 Toad but because its been sat for a while i disconnect the battery otherwise it just goes flat and ruins a battery.

Pretty sure im going to sell up now.

TBH, i was off out early yesterday down to bristol to help chunt69, didnt even notice til the old man said. I opened the door, slammed it shut again cos i was SO fucked off, then realsied the bonnet has been opened, i had a quick look nothing was gone, battery was still disconnected (not that they would ever get it started anyway as i wired the alarm in). And that was that i had to shoot off, didnt get back til it was dark lastnight and i just cant even bring myself to go out and look at it.

Its been pissing down with rain its probably soaked inside now
