You need less power or more grip.

More grip = better rear beam and better tyres, plus ideally a set of decent shocks and bushes of course!

Rod gets NO wheelspin in 3rd with 900bhp in good conditions in terms of tarmac and dry etc, so anyone who reckons its cause they have too much power rather than cause they have a fucking shite car, needs to think again unless you are in the 1000+ club

even with the old standard beam i'd only get wheelspin in first gear, that's with Koni/ahmed shocks and springs and 215 wide yoko parada tyres.

oh and with 420bhp

i remeber 3 yrs ago when i fitted it for rod he was raving about it for weeks that car goes where you want it to

its nice i can bring it to the road going ppl at under £600 its best money you ever spend

ive been in rods car and for a 2wd cossie with stupid power it felt like it was on rails and he certainly wasnt light on the loud pedal , so if a car was going to break one of broms beams then surely rods would be it .Also didnt mike have his vhecked after 3 years of abuse it was still perfect ?

Send a PM to stavros as he knows more about the skyliner options than most people on here.

Fundamentally though, you essentially already have a decent beam and even the standard shocks (if not fucked!) are actually pretty good.

So just decent tyres is probably all thats really needed on a road car, but obviously if he has money to through at it then there are suspension options out there that will help.

Comments like "the bushes need to be in good order" apply to ALL cars of course

that true never had a beam fail wez had one of the 1st beams and a stanard part if the beam split nothing to cause any danger just where the diff mounting plates meet the beam !!!!!
but since then i welded all beams up in this place aswell and never had any trouble
mike beam has has one of the most track days thrown at it in 3 yrs and it came back to me for refamp to new spec and it dropped straight into the jig
rod beam has never had any problems sheady gave it some axle bounce at totb with the 600lbft shafts HE ORDERD and it twisted n snapped a shaft we then gave him 1000blft shafts and he has been fine since
also some hill climb boys up wigan way have had a beam off me ans was over the moon the week after he fitted it as he won his class and got the sprint record which was 1.7 secs faster than his personal best
so you could say the beam has been proven over the yrs

same on every car, decent tyres, decent diff, decent suspension geometry.

you can get 265s or so on the back of 33GTSTs with no arch mods, uprated diffs are widely available, as are adjustable suspension arms, its easy enough.
