Been told I'll be redundant Friday
Basically got a month to work, but cant see that happening as its garden leave scenario I guess,...
What a load of crock, I built the department up from scratch just over a year ago (from nothing) and now they do this...
Can understand tho really, its a good management decision, as customers are calling up and potentially 3 departments could be the people they want to speak to, so they are amalgamating the 3 depts...
So, Ive been offered another similar job, working for someone who I cant work for (believe) but its also 5K less .. That coupled with the 70 mile round trip and 12 hr days, isnt going to be happening...
I basically work an 1872hr year, do shit loads of hrs in the 1st 1/3rd have summer off, loads 2nd-3rd third and have crimbo off, so if I did 20 hrs I got paid for 35, but also if I did 60 I got paid for 35
Need to find a job ... but will deffo be taking the redundancy package....
Been thinking about starting a courier company
Just dont know at the moment, was only told this morning

Sorry to read here and on msn m8.
I was nearly made redundant (well I was made redundant and managed to secure another job in the same company in the nick of time) and I know how you must be feeling.
Like you, put everything into it, and then, nothing as much as a thank you
I am not working anywhere near as hard now.
If I were you, I'd take the other job, bite your lip and bear with it while you find another job... Won't be much fun, but at least you'll be taking some money away in the mean time.
If the package is good, take it and start looking asap.
Good luck Stu, feel for you m8.

One of the guys who works for me has a son who is a courier. He had to buy into a franchise but it was relatively cheap (in the grand scheme of things) and he is doing well. He has employed a 2nd person and bought into a 2nd franchise, so there must be a future in it.
Good Luck
