They should be all colour coded to what sensor they go to.

as anthony said...the sensors on the engine itself should be different colours as well...join colour to colour

ok im just back from the garage. Theres 2 main parts of the loom for plugs - the part that has the plugs for the metering head, amal valve, TPS, charge carrier etc. I got all that sorted out fine,

Its the part for the head im having a bit trouble with. Theres 2 yellow plugs, a black, a green and a blue. One yellow goes into fuel rail, green into right hand side plenum, and other yellow (I think) goes into underneath the plunum next to the fuel line, Ive got the blue and a black left.

Can anyone think what these are for?

Forgot to mention, ive also got another tiny plug that looks round and just clips onto something?? any ideas? ill try and get a pic.

thanks for any input!

Jamie

cheers mate where does it plug into?

The other 2 are just normal plugs like the one that goes into the plenum chamber, for example but one is blue and one is black. They come from the same part of the loom as the plunum chamber, fuel rail etc. Cheers

ill try an get a pic

Default black

the black one is tricky to see, but there should be a auxillary air device behind the inlet manifold which the plug has to go on side ways hence maybe you did not see it. It is a little cylinder shaped thing and is grey, the blue i suspect is for the cold start valve and that should be quite visible in the middle top of the inlet manifold (it plugs upwards into the cold start valve) so have a proper look because from above you might miss this sensor..

Thats just of the top of my head so if i am wrong i am sure someone will correct me.

black one sounds promising mate thanks for that, I did not check there.

I had a yellow one plugged into the cold start valve chances are Im wrong though! If its blue that goes there then I have a spare yellow lol

the black one i am 99% sure is right as i told you, the sensor plug is hidden behind one of the big plastic black vacum hoses and goes on sideways. As for the yellow one that plugs in right at the bottom of the inlet manifold in the middle, its hidden so low down and is situated in a recess so feel right at the bottom and you will find that one. its hidden in a recess as i said so hard to see.
the blue one should be cold start matey.
Best of luck

you could be right mate, It did look a funny shade of yellow. So far I have got:

Green - right hand side plenum
Yellow - fuel rail, at bottom of inlet in the middle
yellow/brown -
Black - auxillary air device, behind inlet
Blue - plus in upwards into cold start valve, just under throttle

Also if anyone can double check the color of their cold start valve plud id be grateful. Cheers

the yellowy brown i think should go where you put the yellow one and then the yellow will go below that where the sensor is quite hidden in the recess i mentioned the sensor plugs upwards into this one iswell and is at an angle not a straight push on.

As per your PM request i can tell you the CSV is a blue plug without even looking

I got the black plug in OK, got the blue one into the CSV, got the yellowy brown one into the fuel rail, but couldnt find the one further down for the yellow one - but it was dark time I got home.

Thanks again

You dont happen to know the name of the device or the sensor do you? I was going to look up in the haynes manual, but dont know what im looking for. Does it actually plug into the inlet or is it below it?

Cheers
