Default Uprated diffs for a 2wd cossie

What companys do uprated diffs for a cossie ?

Can they make the standard one stronger or is it a complete new unit ?

Any ideas on price as well please.

Steve.

Quaife only do a LSD not the full diff.

Its not the LSD part of the dif that breaks so going to a quife wont really make your diff any stronger.

well quaifes seem to stop the diff breakers of the world for some reason

but its not a total diff but think the way it works helps to reduce strain

quaife is very strong...it's the CWP that'll break once you have one fitted....but only at big power i'd guess (550bhp)

My new box should be fitted over the next few weeks so from then on the weak part should be the diff....will need to see how it copes with a few launches etc...

if you click my car <---------

you'll see the pic of the quaife fitted, and the bits that normally break on a cossie diff are not there

there are loads of options out there though

hi mate

you have got 3 choices

1, you can have your diff rebuilt with uprated planet gears and uprated Viscous coupling to 240Nm on the standard VC plates (standard VC is 50Nm when it was new)

2 you can have an ATB fitted

3 you can go plated route

no matter which one you go for the crownwheel pinion will be the weakest part you will never break a plated unit it's self ever they are made from EN42 harden steel

try and find a granny 24v estate for a cheap option, for some reason Ford needed a lower range diff for the estate and for some reason they are much stronger.

I have a 24v diff as a spare but the drive shaft bolts are smaller.

If you remove the clips and take this section out of the diff then you can put your driveshafts into it....and it will be plenty strong enough for your 24v conversion.
