I picked up my S1 RS Turbo today from Norfolk way & i proper re-lived my youth as i was driving it back to brum i.e, "fook what's that noise" "what's the burning smell" "the temperature's getting high because i've been in slow moving traffic for about 30 seconds" etc etc

I honestly forgot just how crap these cars are to drive

The car's not bad on the whole but it could do with abit of money spending on it.

I'll get some pics up tomorrow if i get a chance

i had that running outside my house for about an hour the other day and it was fine.

at least you got home ok

 

Lol na, it went to about the 3/4 mark but then traffic started moving so it came back down to half way

 

How true is that

only cars i've ever ever worried about in traffic is RS's

 

let me know whst up with the steering but ill reckon it will be the tracking out

 

S2martin i can be stuck in traffic for hours in the evo or my clio & the temp doesnt move but in an RS your shitting it

Very! My old Fezza turbo was a nightmare! Cossie is not too bad in traffic, just lets out a great big plume of smoke when you pull off again instead!

The pain in my sides is unbearable....

 

I drive from Essex to Wembley every day so about 40 miles each way and the return journey is always in traffic/rush hour

I used to use a beaten up old auto cavalier that had a water and oil leak but i refused to top them up more than once a week and it never let me down..

any rs and i had to put in fan switches etc and as soon as the needle moved a mm past half way i always used to think damn she is getting hot better switch the fans on

fucking hell the cavalier caught fire once as it happens i popped the bonnet poured my lucozade all over it and drove it home

 

shame on you the old ford trick..summers day cars overheating..

turn the heater on full. wind the windows down. temp lowers ..

and throw things at people in the traffic jam with air-con
