How do I fit a MT75 2wd gearbox to a 24v V6 Cosworth lump?
Hi
I have a mk1 3 door sierra which has a 24v granada cosworth engine in. Ive decided to fit a Mt75 box in place of the type 9 as i have just blown the type 9 up.
ive baught a 2wd mt75 gearbox which came out of a granada 2.9 and has had the shaft replaced so it will fit my engine.
Does anyone know what clutch and flywheel setup i need to use?
I have a 2wd 6 paddle clutch which was previosly used with the type 9 that is like new. so i was hoping to use this if possible.
Also ive been told i will need to change the speedo drive in the gearbox does anyone know what i should replace it with?
Any help at all would be much appreciated. A I need to get this car on the road by Monday.
Thanks.

today ive managed to get all the bits i need together.
though im still not sure wheather to use the 2wd cossie 6paddle clutch or use the organic one which is made to go on the MT75 xr4x4 box i have.
Both are brand new, and i would rather use a 6 paddle clutch, although
ive been told that if i use a 6 paddle cossie clutch i will have a shaking noise on tick over. Someone else has told me ill have that noise what ever i do because of the conversion. And other people have told me it wont be a problem at all.
looking at the clutch plates they are both the same size but in the centre of the 6 paddle cossie clutch there are 6 springs and on the centre of the xr4x4 clutch there are 4 springs on one side and some more i think on the other side.
i really don know what to do as im not sure if the XR clutch will be up to the job and i dont know if the cossie clutch will not work properly.
Has anyone had any experiace with this?
thanks

my xr clutch lasted 4 months .....the escos big turbo clutch has been in for 16 months and is beginning to wear.... it rattles a bit all the time which it has done since fitting.... mine is 4x4 with the mt75...
thanks for your Reply Mick, is it a loud noise or barely noticeable?
I went to fit mine today and realized i had the wrong clutch arm
I didnt realize the type 9 one was different from a mt 75 one looks like i need to find myself a clutch arm for an MT75 now.
anyone know if i need a 4x4 one or a 2wd one?
or are they both the same? managed to find a 2wd cossie one today but found they were the same as what i had anyway!
gotta try and find myself a clutch arm tomorow as ipromisedmy mate id have it out of the garage by monday.

its very noticeable............. ask anyone who has heard my car...
as for the arm i'm not sure. i run 4x4 so i could say you need a 4x4 one but www.fordpower.org.uk are probably your best bet...for the 24v info

I think ill just put the standard clutch in then. I hope it lasts longer than yours though mate!
I managed to get hold of the mt75 2wd clutch arm which seems to fit on the box fine, (they just mount on in a different way to the type 9 one). so there should be nothing to stop it all going together now
