just get a spanner and bridge the connectors on the starter... if its got power to it it should turn over.. (or make a racket at least
) if it does then your prob is somewhere in the wiring

also, is the thick cable from the alternator a ground or does it go on the same 13mm bolt as the battery live?

Take the starter off and put power direct onto it via some jump leads - does it spin ? If not bin it.
You will need +ive on the big terminal and a -ive via the casing (not via any terminals). If it spins the motor is fine. Then bridge the +ive across to the smaller terminal for the solonoid and see if thats working.
The lead from your alternater should be a +ive btw.
If the starter spins off the car then there is a wiring fault from the ign switch to starter, an earthing fault to engine or the batterys flat lol
Hope that offers some help

I had similar problems with this setup, just ripped off injection system and put a Weber carb on it, so much easier and about the same in performance terms too!
Just summat to think about....

Did you previously have a good earth on the starter ( via the engine ?) Is there a good 12v on the wire feeding the heavy side of the motor (not the solonoid) when the ign is turned or is there a massive voltage drop ?
