theres an ecu on ebay with a power engineering chip, firstly any thoughts on these. and secondly it says the ecu is from a 1986 series 2 and is the hearts and diamonds type, i thought this type was only made for 90, 91 cars, am i wrong?

yes you right. early s2 had blue red white, and blue red black, ecus

 

I would personally run from anything which involved with Power Engineering, due to my experiences with them.

I have a chipped ECU, £80 and u can be sure it works.

 

It doesnt matter what year the car is off, it will work but you would need a knock sensor to stop ignition retard on a hearts/diamond/hash ECU

 

that was my ECU and was a perfect ECU the chip was fine too never had any probs there.

yes i ran a knock sensor too
