Default Any Saxophone players on here ........

Anyone on here play it??? How cool an instrument can you get, proper mellow and all that

Thing is, how hard is it to play??? I used to play the Keyboard/piano years and years ago, but always wanted to play the sax. I got a bit of an itch going on to try it............

i played it for years, never got extremely good with it, although i never took any grades, i was about level two.

as said is easy to get to grips with, but hard work to make it sound good.

play the guitar now, and not great at that either, but i'm going back to basics with it, all that stuff i didnt think was important first time round is what is holding me back now.

I started playing clarinet at school but knocked it on the head when I discovered smoking and drinking cider

Started playing alto sax five years ago, can play okay but still embarrassed to play in public even with friends. Best thing ever is to learn any musical instrument

Talk to Thrush, hes the only one that can play and instrument and retain his level of quality without practising for ages.

My ex girlfriend and current girlfriend both play the Alto Saxaphone..

The instruments arent cheap.. The missus spent just over 4k on one... yes 4000. I nearly died

Always wanted to play one most of my life, but I WILL do it someday!

I went to see Lionel Richie in concert a month ago and the lad on the Sax was BRILLIANT!!!! He did a solo tune for a few minutes and did great additions to Lionel's songs. That made the concert IMO.

When we're getting married in Aug, we chose our band because of 2 things. They are fantastic at playing traditional Scottish Ceilidh music (a must for a wedding!!!!) and the lead singer plays the Sax and does geat reditions of popular songs. He's gonna play it for our first dance too - Richard Marxx - Right here waiting.

Oh yeh, the price is scary for a new one, but don't really fancy buying a second hand one after all someone has been blowing thier bodily fluids down it! Yuk!
