In my opinion Liam is a bit of a nob, but Noel is a genius.

What do you think?

never a truer word said!

Liam is a twat but has an awesome voice, Noel is a god, Blur were sh**e.

Sorry..I'm a mega Oasis fan, but I just never thought their music was anything near the quality of Oasis', how can you argue with tunes like Live Forever, Whatever, Masterplan....

Columbia = an awesome 6 minutes of only 3 guitar chords!!!!

in terms of singing ability, then yeah, he's not the best, but there's no way Noel could pull of songs like Cigarettes & Alcohol, Supersonic and the like, especially live. They wouldn't be the same.

I was never really into the Stone Roses, and a lot of people think that's strange since I like Oasis so much.

Don't like Ian Brown much, in the same way that a lot of people don't like Liam, Squire is the man though, I loved the Seahorses.

As you said,Liam can pull songs off that Noel wont.Liam is a bit of a cock, all this strutting about on stage and thinks he is Mr Rock n Roll.Quite cringeworthy half the time.

Brown was the man in his day.His singing is getting worse every year. But Squire was the man, shame they will never play on stage again.

when they first come out it was a mixture or noels songwriting, liams voice and the swagger. no band has ever come out with the same confidence mixed with talent. thats where a lot of bands nowadays are going wrong these days. kasabian are the only band since oasis to come anywhere close to being as big and as good a band.

people might say liam is a cock but he has got a huge stage presence. i persoanlly think he's quality. and he's writing some fantastic songs too.

i was never into blur (prob cos im a burnage boy) but than i heard beetlebum. that for me is there best tune.

I used to be a mega oasis fan. I have all the cd singles, albums, box sets etc

I've seen them play live 4-5 times and they rock.

I was at the concert they did in glasgow back in 97 when some nobber threw a bottle on after 10mins and they walked off

I was also at the concert in aberdeen where they sung Wonderwall live for the first time in years. I think they stopped singing it when Noel split from meg.

Yeh and shit loads of mentality over it.. simply awesome.... I used to play bass in a band when I was 18 and it was one of "our" songs....

Cant beat the way they use a few simple chords and make them epic...

For those of you who dont know - or dont play Guitar- have a little listen to Wonderwall and D'yer know what I mean- Any one hear any similarities.... yet 2 totally different sounding songs.

The list of fav Oasis songs is ridiculously long as far as I am concerned but a spot of "Stay Young" is awesome- great title track to the "Faculty" film too.. .. I also like their cover of "Hero's".

Their early B sides just show how good they are- everyone could have been a single or Album track....

I crowd surfed when I went to see them once as they played out with "My Generation" which is awesome also.

What about Wonderwall and Green Day's Boulevard Of Broken Dreams? Similar chords/strumming pattern, sounds very very similar

It's just a shame that since they 'made it' the quality of album went downhill,
The 1st 2 albums were written while Noel was bumming around the dole,
There is the odd decent track on the later albums but as a whole dont hold the quality listenability of the 1st 2.

Saying that 1 of my favorite tracks is 'Fade In Out'

Stay Young is awesome , one of the better tracks around the last few albums.

No way I can pick one favourite Oasis tune, I go through phases of which ones I like.

One really underestimated song is "She's Electric" and if anyone has heard Noel play it live with the rest of the band from the Barrowlands gig, I'm sure you'll agree, it's a brilliant song.

I'm in a band, and we write all our own stuff, and believe me it's difficult to come up with one catchy tune that's anywhere near Oasis standard, never mind 2, 3 albums worth. Noel is one gifted guy....
