Does the little light come on then go off like it should?

I had problems with my erst when I disconnected the belts on the abs, it went thru but they said they wont do the test again unless I completly remove the system!

I am sure the ABS doesn't have to work, but if your ABS warning light is on (common on RST's with broken/slack belts) then they can count that as a fail. Remove belt, adjust belt or remove warning light.

nah, the two little lights stay on all the while

change the mot station mate
i think with the fact hes already noted it, ill have to get it working. he said all the sensors are still there, so im wondering where its most likely been disconnected ?

no can do mate, ive already lashed at the dough on this one and im too tight
to pay again, esp since thats all it failed on

I am sure the ABS doesn't have to work

me too, thats why it went through last year different station like.

Remove belt, adjust belt or remove warning light

Pull the belt break sensor out of the modulator and use a zip tie to hold the metal switch closed. Job's a goodun. Only takes 30 seconds and no tools are required.

They do not actually test the operation of the ABS system just that the warning lights do as they should.

The ABS warning system will work as normal mate. It will still illuminate both the Hanbrake and ABS lights when the hanbrake is applied.

All you are doing is fooling the warning circuit into thinking the belts are both there and that everything is fine.

This sounds like you have a faulty ABS sensor

And they aint cheap.

When you put the ignition on, without starting the engine, can you hear the ABS pump prime ? A buzzing noise that will go on for around 20-30 seconds

ill have to go out and check, i cant remember lol.

in the mag article it said the abs had been disconnected so i assumed
this was a deliberate thing and not due to a fault ?

also all the sensors were checked with a pectal thingy and none were faulty but wether that includes the abs one i dont know, maybe just engine sensors?
