Default BONNET PINS WHATS YOUR OPINION?

HI

Its been suggested to me to get some bonnet pins for my S2, due to bonnet catch catching very slightly on intercooler.
Was just wondering what you thought about them?
Do they spoil the look?

Would love it if you could post some pics up.
My S2 is radiant red what colour pins do you think i should go for?

Many Thanks

personally i dont like em but the std ford catch has broke on a few people and there bonnets flew open damagin the car so from a safety point of view there a good idea

most people just cut a small piece off the catch so it dosent foul the intercooler when u close the bonnet

My bonnet got intimate with the windscreen and although I repaired the catch and it hasn't popped again I found myself looking at the bonnet rather than where I was going. Fitted the pins and I can now hammer the car without a care in the world.

I'd only ever recommend stainless ones, the alloy ones are thin and crap

My bonnet catch gave way just about a week ago, resulting into it smashed into my windscreen and got stuck there as it came over the wipers. I would strongly recomend the bonnet pins as thats the first thing im doing to my car when it comes back

Or remember there is always the other route of a safety break wire on the inside of the bonnet to stop it flipping back too far if it does pop open.

We sometimes fit these as well as bonnet pins. In Motorsport one of the most common accidents is caused by setting off without fixing them shut correctly. I'd guess at something well over 60% of cars have suffered it at some stage in ther life

I reckon the pins the twins have on their S2 are spot on, recessed into the bonnet
