Default Fitting a L.S.D. in a ib5 gearbox

How bad is it to fit a standard RS turbo L.S.D. into a ib5 gearbox?

does the gearbox have to be taken completely apart to fit it? is it a job that could be done at home, or do you need special tools.

Im conferdent enough to strip the gearbox, just not sure is specail tools are required, and if the box does need to be stripped completely.

also i know this was talked about not long ago. but if i find a gearbox from a mk6 escort, front mounted starter, will my gearbox mounts line up? or does it require some other mods.

its all going in a S2 RS turbo.

cheers

You have to split the casing obviously to get into the differential, but a S2 LSD drops straight in from what ive been told.

As i said to you, you'll more than likely need a puller for 5th gear.

The box should drop straight into the car

Would that be the same for a Quaife in an iB5?

The quaife is probably worth more than your car anyway
