Where someone (can't remember who) posted a link to a app or something, that increased the speed of the inital boot up of your PC? So it went from pressing the power button to being a fully active desktop really quickly?

But the best way is making sure you dont have lots or programmes load on start up and..............................MORE RAM

 

i know the last 2 - I shoudn't have pretty much anything on start up, other than audio software, gfx software, and media portal (if I install it. Doubt this PC will be connected to the net a lot, so won't bother with firewalls, spyware scanners, virus scanners, etc.... And I know I need more ram

It did I must admit tho - I reckon all it does is lose the blue "WELCOME" screen, as it goes straight from black XP loading screen to the desktop - so it might not be as "true" as it makes out it is, if you get me
