Default Escort Cosworth Long studded block

Just a quickie for anyone in the know.

If a block is long studded (centre 6) do you have to replace the studs if you remove the Cyl head or are they fine to be re used?

Cheers

usually the outer four is regular arp studs, so you dont have to swap them either.

Looks like standard stretch bolts in the 4 corners (splined heads) but need to get a socked machined down tomorrow to fit through the head to get to the nuts so havent really looked at it tonight.

Pete,we know the std bolts are up to it,but you can only use them once.....they are not reusable as they stretch the first time you use them mate.....

I have std bolts in my Escos with 34psi spike and 28 psi held..

ok fair e snuff...............i use 4 used standard bolts........cos they have done most of the stretching..........my pal put a new set of 4 and his gasket went straight away.....i used 4 bolts that had been used before and have no probs............the long studs are made from a much stronger/less stretchey steel.......so used standard ones seem to fit in the mix well................

...the long studs are semi stretch...fine for repeated use but there must be a max number of times before you should replace lol......the outer 4 need to be new and torqued as per std.
