Default clutch help

After ive been drivin @ 80 or so for a while on a motorway when i come to a slip road and go to change down thru the gears it is impossible to get it into any gear unless i slam my foot down on the clutch pedal

anyone got any ideas wot could be causing this?

i dunno tbh i could prob go back and ask them as it was not too long ago and see wot they say ,

could it be anything to do with the cable of anything else

Sounds like clutch drag, could be the cable or the pedal ratchet/quadrant.

Not really sure on the best way to check it, I'm sure the RST boys will have some input. The ratchet should be self adjusting - try pressing the clutch pedal a few times and seeing if it clicks, or you may feel it adjusting. You can do this whilst stationary.

For what it's worth, I always change the clutch cable when I have a new clutch.

You could get a mate to watch the clutch lever/arm on the box whilst you press the clutch pedal in, and see if it has full travel.

Of course it could also be something else, but nothing springs to mind at the moment.
