Default Collins Ecu fitted and mapping started(updated)

Just heard from Alan at AVA and they have fitted the new Collins ecu to my car and started the mapping, Alan recons it is prity good software. He is still working his way through the features and getting to grips with them but things look to be going well.
They have done one low boost run up stopping at 7k and the car made 241 ATW at 1 bar on the T38 , 20 brake less that it made last time it was ran there on a T35 at 2 bar. Plans now are to dial in the cams and finnish the mapping to a 7500 rpm limmiter then raise the boost to around 2 bar.
Cant wait to get it back just need to get some diffs sorted out now.

No chance of it being at crail i dont think. We may have a problem with the oil pressure Alan wasnt too happy with it when playing with the idle speed. Was like the oil thined out alot when it got up to real high temp .He phoned to let me know before going any further ,so plan is to change oil to the Castrol Rs that they use and try it out if not will need to look further into it.

Hope the oil change will sort the pressure problem out then Alan can get the cam timing done. Will be good to see what sort of change the cam timing will make since most people slag BD10's. If i get anything over 310 ATW will be happy aslong as it drives well, just a pity wont have it for crail as its nice and close .

Yes Dov will still be going to crail, will need to get a look around your car not seen it since the new engine went in.

Got a UT T38 so switched from the T35 as the one i had was a .55 housing, should be good for 400+ with lowish lag.

you defo need an exhuast col..the gas speed on yours is enough to force the gas analyser over every time Alan tell me.

Will wait and see what Alan says once it gets up to full boost, think the inlet will be on the limit before the exhaust.

Dont think it will get near that mate, if Col is making 370 with a modded T4 and similar spec to mine. Sure Euan said that a Harvey Gibs 450 engine makes about 350 ATW at ava so 300+ will be cool.

Just heard from AVA and the oil change has sorted out the oil pressure problem . Alan has now set the cam timing and did a power run at .7 bar making 231 ATW ,so just a few other small bits to mess with then then go on with the full boost set up and finnish the idle map. So things are looking up and the ECU is looking to be a good bit of kit.

The one i have is the same spec as the UT unit but built by the guy that use to work for them then set up on his own(Vince i think), its has also got the internals pollished to try and aid flow.
I've only drove the car through to AVA with the T38 fitted but since it was on the old T35 map was trying to keep it off boost.

Hi mate glad to hear your oil pressure is sorted what grade and make was your old oil??

[/quote]

The oil that was put in originaly was Valvoline 10/50 i think, pressure was ok to start with but the oil seemed to thin out alot when real hot. AVA have now changed to Castrol Rs 10/60 and seems alot better , didnt drop pressure while doing the cam timing when it was on the rollers for long periods of time.
