Default FAO All Laptop People

Ok guys I need some help here PLEASE!!!

The people in the shop are fooking useless & speak another language to me

I need to if possible know the difference between the following:

1) Intel Pentium Dual-Core T2060 1.6GHz

2) Intel Core 2 Duo T5200 Processor 1.6GHz

I've read some people on other forums saying that the Core 2 Duo is pants,,,etc,,,but I don't know why??

I'm looking at the moment at 2 laptops & I dont know what one is better?

I'm using it for stoarge space, music, pictures, on the net & so on! I usually have about 5 windows open at once so multi tasking is a must have for the new laptop & I want a quick one

PC 1) http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/sto...ull&tabIndex=1

PC 2) http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/sto...ull&tabIndex=1

So what is the better one for me? I like the bigger screen but does the 2 Duo thing make the pc slower or what?

HELP

xxx

1) Intel Pentium Dual-Core T2060 1.6GHz - Is a centrino duo based upon the Intel Core Duo chip. (centrino is a mobile version of the chip/chipset optimized for battery life etc, and has wireless built in)

2) Intel Core 2 Duo T5200 Processor 1.6GHz - centrino duo based on Intel Core 2 Duo, the newer chip/chipset.

the 2000 series are core duo, 5000 series are core 2 duo (2MB L2 cache), and the 7000 series are the Core 2 Duo's as well (but with 4mb L2 cache)

so the 5000 is better than the 2000, but the 7000 beats them both

Most of them are badged as centrino nowadays cos they do fancy things with power management and wireless etc. the Core Duo/Core Duo 2 is just the name for the processor itself

That second one sounds similar to my laptop. Mine's a T5500 processor I think.

Was £830 with a discount though

They're both very similar tbh. but the AMD's come with biometrics (fingerprint scanner on the top that you can use to log in, very cool )

I've used both HP AMDs and the Intels and can safely say they're both lightning I think HP are shipping Turion X2 dual core's now too

I'm glad we went in your car, people will already be talking about that lad in the yellow car that keeps pulling up with a laptop
