you got it,

nothing seems to fit, and there all supposed to be off the shelf items

i.e there not custom one off's, which for my car is generally the case.

Theyre not called "Modified cars " for nothing chap .
I had to make a pair of drop brackets and bushes for my 80mm intercooler, gets interesting with a 65mm rad as well , thats 6" of the front of the car taken up !

if it needs modding i wont bother with it, whole reason i bought an off the shelf item.

otherwise i would have got a custom on off made.

right upon further trials they will actually just clear or sit against the headlights, but the ducting plates still foul the crossmember, so im guessing if these were sorted the cooler should mount in the original 3dr intercooler mountings and everything would be hunky dory.

well possibly, no way to tell 100% untill the plate issue is addressed.

just looked on there site and its actually 65mm CORE.

It may fit but it wont fit with these ducting plates as they as, i know mine was one of the very 1st ones done, so it may have now been revised.

Using the radiator moutings everything fits, but then there are no moutning for the radiator, and as i said above it may push the rad/fans too far back.

no kev, thats only needed on escorts, as they only have 1 set of mounting bolts due to the original cooler being mounted above the rad.

3dr shell/500 shell has the mountings for the 500 cooler, so had 2 sets

Would it solve the problem though?? Bolt them together and use the rear (rad) holes??

no mate, as 3dr dont have that bracket like on escorts, there captive nuts in the chassis rails.

I guess it would work to a degree but then the cooler would be alot lower causing issues with hoses and god knows that else.

have you got flat shaped end tanks on yours ryan or is it contored around the back on the head light ?
although mine is 120 thick and bolts onto the rad mounts as yours is thinner it shoulb bolt up to the cooler bolts or do what kat said and use escort brackets as it moved it forward 20 mm towars the engine

Brom, mine has the shaped end tanks to fit flush up against the headlights, unfortunately it cant get that close as the ducting plates foul by quite a bit on the front crossmember.

Heard from wayne this morning so hopefully we can sort a solution out.
