st170 wont start

Default st170 wont start

over the past couple off weeks the car has been playing up when u put the key in and turn nothing happens then all of a sudden the dash lights up
and the cd player comes on but is asking for the code its like someone has disconnected the battery.after about 5 mins the car will start and be fine for about a week this has happened a few times now and then today it did it again but this time it wont start at all,all the lights come on but wont turn over i thought maybe the starter is goosed so tried toeing it and bump startin it no joy any ideas people?

yep tried that lights are on on the dash tho so may be a bad earth but not sure the car is still in warrenty had it into the local ford dealership on the diagnostis machine the other day they found nothing so feck knows

well a was thinkin summit like that the other day coz the battery in the key is nearly fucked and its the key that mobilises the car but i asked the dude in the ford garage and he said no coz it would have showed up on the diagno test might get them to put a new battery in the key anyway and see what happens.cheers anyway any more ideas??

no the battery in the key is just for the remote locking. The immobiliser in the key will still work even withou a battery in it!

If its under warranty mate keep pestering them til its sorted!

when i towed the car back to town i took it straight there al speak to them in the morn hope the waranty covers what ever is broken they charge a fortune

i doubt it is related but incase it is ecu related i have an ecu loom etc up on ebay with a cheap start price maybe as a spare?

well peeps today my local ford garage told me the ecu is fooked there is power going in but nout going out £430 it would cost thank fook for warranty so another few days on hoof for me then
