Use the windows clock and count it for 15 seconds then multiply by 4.

Give me age and rate!!!

That does NOT give you a true resting heart rate I'm afraid..... because you are naturally anxious and aware that you are measuring it.

How would you take it without being anxious then!.....Its a good indicator if resting.

i did it for a whole min to get a more accurte result!

Im 21 and my heart rate was 63
anyone know if thats good or bad?

Yeah the average for an adult is 60 to 80 i think...America says 50 to 80.

Alledgedly if you are more than 70 you are more likely to have a heart attack.The slower the better i guess within reason as its not working so hard.

So am i fooking fit or just lazy

Best way is to wear a Heart rate moniter and look at it the exact moment you wake up. OR have one that data logs... that gives a true resting heart rate.

Around 60-65 normally
54 in the morning when still half asleep
I used to have it down to 44 in the morning when I was a nipper and raced mountain bikes. I then discovered beer and a sport that didn't involve going outside in winter

68 beats, aged 35, 5ft9 and 15.5 stone, 20 a day, pi$$head, married, 3 kids, massive mortgage, fuel bills on a cossie on greys, CSA for ex missus and kid, bloody stressful job! !!!

Porkie..yes i agree that is the best time...BUT its a good indicator and wont be far from that figure if rested for around 5 mins.

Whats yours NOW then mate with a 5 min rest?

I think the younger you are the faster it is...it should slow up with age...could be wrong though!

the younger you are the slower it should be at rest and higher when working hard phil.
also, a low blood pressure (i've got this) is good when youre young but not that great when you're older.

75 at rest & 180 ish when training hard...Age 29

Got abloke here at work, mad into Time trialing (Cycling) 35bpm at rest, near on 200 when cycling hard. He is bloody slow at work mind...with 35 bpm he seems like his almost dead
