Default Does Mileage Matter?

I am looking to buy a car from my mate and everything about the car is totally mint. Ive driven it and it is really nice to drive. My mate has had it for a couple of months and says hes had no problems but he is moving to cypress and selling up.

The car has done 138,000 but it runs sweet as, does this matter?

Depends on the car really, anything French could be fooked with that many miles

I bought an N reg cavalier 2 months ago with 176,000 miles on the clock Its now coming upto 180,000 miles and it drives like its done half that

My A4 has 142,000 on the clock now and the only reason were trading it in is because at that mileage we're getting a bit twitchy. If it's at the right money and depending what it is why not.

its a P reg ford escort SI GTI lookalike. Has some history but no mention of rebuild so may or may not be original engine.

Charlie Luciano - Cossies are ever so slightly out of my price range....

had a 1.6 16v escort on a p plate, had done 103 miles when i got it, had 115 when i sold it to a friend, it has now done 135k and still purrs.

It had a full dealer history when I picked it up, but since she has had it, no service tick tock!!

All down to the service history, if it's good and she purs, then have it.

Zetecs are noted for managing high miles flawlessly, i would buy it as long as it had been looked after ok (the rest of the cars condition should give you a general idea)

thanks for your advice guys. I'm going to get it, the engine seems mint. My mate hasn't had it long and has only done 1000 miles in it. The bodywork is mint, no rust at all.

I'll get some pics up when I get it.
