They all serve the same purpose but for some reason the very early motors in escorts & orions, and all fiestas it would seem, are nice and quiet. The later escort/orion motors sound shit!
I doubt you need motors mate, the latches go stiff in the winter, and a squirt of oil on the jopints usually sorts it out

I wasnt moaning about the sound, just the missus can only lock her Turbo on the Passenger side which is a pain in the dong.. and because its a pain for her its now a pain for me so I need to sort it.
Ironically, it locks and unlocks on the passenger side lovely lovely with the key, but when you try and lock it with the Alarm plip or the key on the drivers side it just locks and then immediately unlocks again.
So I am reliably informed its a problem on the passenger side.
Yea i know you werent complainin about the sound, but if your guna replace them there is 2 variants and the earlier ones are much quieter
Its worth checking the latches are screwed up tight to the doors, they have a habit of coming loose and causing similar problems aswell!
But if its not that a drop of oil on all the joints wouldnt go a miss before you start forking out
