Default Noisey cossie tappets

Hi 2 u all when i first start my saff cossie 4x4 up on a morning first thing the tappets r quiet n then after about 2 to 3 mins they start 2 become noisey for about 5 mins then go off.Im using castrol rs 10w 60.Im gonna change the timing belt n tappets 2 c if this cures it.I hope its not an oil pressure fault.

NO, the noise will be a lot louder , but only until oil has filled new tappets, which can take a few miles of driving, until then clickety clack I'm afraid but ok once up to temp and they should stay there nice and quiet.
The problem is they lose oil pressure when they get a bit old.
I bought INA which are oe kit ones, twice the price but they are known good ones.
Let me know how you get on with the tappets as I would be interested to hear good or bad.
When I rebuilt the zetec in my old mondy it took 15 minutes for them to stop ticking was all ok after that though, and if left overnight.
