NO, the noise will be a lot louder , but only until oil has filled new tappets, which can take a few miles of driving, until then clickety clack I'm afraid but ok once up to temp and they should stay there nice and quiet.
The problem is they lose oil pressure when they get a bit old.
I bought INA which are oe kit ones, twice the price but they are known good ones.
Let me know how you get on with the tappets as I would be interested to hear good or bad.
When I rebuilt the zetec in my old mondy it took 15 minutes for them to stop ticking was all ok after that though, and if left overnight.

i used internal engine cleaner - and the sludge that came out with oil -
Changed oil w10- 30 --2 times (and filter)- and is using w10-30 in the summer ( oil cooler) and engine is now on 75tm - and NOT ratling one sek.

Well i will just have 2 let the car warm up first before i drive it.Or if i drive it i will just take it easy till the ngk gets round the engine n stops the noise.if it has tits or wheels it will always give u problems.

Ive been driving my car the past 3 days n im pleased 2 say my tappets dont seem as noisey as they used 2 b. There is still a little bit of noise coming from them but no way as bad as it used 2 b.Sweet im happy now.
im going changing from mobil1 15w50 to silkolene pro s,because the tappets have gotten a bit noisy on the mobil, does anyone recommend anything to put it the oil before i change it to help clean/quieten the tappets?
