Default Using a standard S2 as a daily?

Is it possible?

I've been offered one as p/x on my car (a Corsa ) but I want to know if realistically, I can use the S2 as a daily driver, without having to worry about stuff going wrong...

What about security? what will it be like if I leave it in a car park for half an hour?

It'll be garaged at home, so that's fine, I'm just a bit wary about taking it out

With a decent alarm and steering lock thingy, would it be alright?

And what about MPG (not too bothered, just curious)

Sorry for all the questions, and Thanks in advance

Keep it standard mate!.

Will give you far less agro than if you mod it lol

MPG round town i was seeing 26-27mpg taking it easy
but far less when on a sprited drive

Get a decent alarm and a full cover steering lock and you
will be fine mate.

Above all enjoy it

Well, I'd keep it NEARLY standard, I doubt I'd be able to resist the lure of the Jamsport clan

Like I say, the thing which bothered me the most was security, but if a decent alarm will help, then I'll probably go for it, if the lad strikes a good deal with me

Cheers for the help Matt

I'd completely agree with these guys. I have mine as a daily driver, it's slightly modded and it's had it's moments, but it's been cheap as chips to repair anything so far! I see awsome MPG round town, as I dont boost it on my commute, but on the weekends my right foot gets the better of my wallet if you know what I mean

Get a decent alarm and a full steering lock and you'll be fine! I've even left mine in a multi storey overnight and it's been fine!!!

You'll love it!

Nothing special really, probably be better off selling it standard, but that's hassle selling the bits off then

I use mine everyday and had no real big problems with it you got to understand that you will get silly things go wrong with them every now and then as most are getting on in age now id see what the other guy is willing to put you way in cash or are you not willing to come down in the price for yours?? The RS would be SOOOOOO!! much more fun than the corsa

TBH, I'm used to having unreliable cars, I used to have a 1985 Nova SR (here's a pic, so you don't think it was chavvy - http://www.corsasport.co.uk/carimages/4246/nova.jpg), which was rewired by a total fucktard and also used to stop working completely in slightly cold weather

I don't think it'd be too bad if an S2 turns out to need bits quite often, my mate works for Jamsport, so I'm sure I'd be able to get it looked after well enough

The lad with the S2 wanted 2800 for his, and said he can't afford to give me any cash at all, there's no way I'm dropping that far, maybe a few hundred quid though.

I've only had it since June and it cost me 5k, so I could come down a little bit, realistically.

Ah i see what you mean if he dont want to give you any money then i wouldn't bothere. Probably be best to keep advertising your's mate and when you do sell it just buy an RS out right .

Can definately use it as a daily driver mate. I used mine before I sold it from 1998 to 2003 constantly. It was only when I started commuting 100 miles per day in 2004 that I bought a 1.3 Astra with a mate to cut down on running costs. As you can imagine, 100miles a day on petrol @ 60/70mph gets a bit expensive over a month...
