No, 1991 was the last year for the late S2's, so certainly far too late for S1.

Must be a conversion. Over the top if you ask me.

This is what I got back from the vehicle check on the RAC website:

Manufacturer FORD
Model ESCORT RS TURBO
Body type 3 DOOR HATCHBACK
Colour WHITE
Fuel type PETROL
Date manufactured 31 December 1991
Number of previous owners 3

Definately a Series 2! I'm gonna message the thick cunt!

This is what I wrote to him

"Sory mate by why are you blatantly trying to sell a Series 2 as a Series 1!?
Everyone knows that Series 1's finished official production in 1986 on a 'D' Plate! You'd be better off advertising the car as what it is rather than something it's actually not!"

Question is, did HE know it was a S2 parading as an S1 when he brought it ??????

Whilst I appreciate an S1 is more valuable ( and arguably more desirable) than an S2. Still dont understand why someone would butcher an S2 to produce a mongrel RS which I doubt anyone (who done at least 30 seconds of research) would pay anywhere near top dollar for.

The reply:
"hello mate you obviously can't read. were does it say in the ad series 1 I've looked again and can't see were it says that. it is advertised as a h reg rs turbo if i am not mistaken. it was built from new in 1991 from a series 2 Shell thanks for the interest though now go and post that on passion ford
"

My reply:

"Whats your e-mial address mate, i'll send you some pics of a proper Series 1! "

I think it prob has had new panels as the front ends are different mk3/mk4, so they prob replaced the back panels as well.
The pics above are the only ones that ever seem to get posted around.

Maybe it was their pride & joy or first car but it needed work, loved the S1 look so decided to change it?

I can see it is an s2 with S1 body panels. It could have been a late registered s1 like the J & K reg s2's that float about now n again, or the 51 plate sierra cossie. Are there any odd s1's like this floating around?

I'm almost 100% that it's been confirmed before as a mk4 with mk3 panels fitted.

There is an E plate ex-rally car floating about. It was mag featured in '05 or '06. Surpisingly I don't seem to have any pics on my comp of it tho

In that rear view pic, the driver's side wheel looks to be pointing inwards
