Default UPRATED GEARBOX'S - A WASTE OF TIME ?????

Well as I love doing balls out launches in my escort cossie (and 450 BHP) its not surprising
that the gearbox needs replacing nearly every year.

I have condsidered getting an uprated box which is about 3000 pounds but
that equates to 6 normal brand new boxes
from ford but I will carry on for now destroying the standard ones.
I know this is a false economy versus reliablity but a recent turn of events has spooked me a bit.

A friend of mines car with such an uprated gear box that has has little
hard use from new keeps breaking just as much.

(this time I drove it and it broke - oops sorry)

I dont want to mention who or what gearbox he has but just wondered if
anyone else has had the same experences.

Pete doughty box is around 2100 and i never broke it at all and i did lots of 6k launching

However you will then do rear diffs like there made of chocolate unless you uprate that too

I had the same thoughts as you simon and 7 gearboxes later brought a doughty

Buy once buy right

Buy Wrong keep buying
