Default slow series 1....HELP!

my series 1 is running like an old 1.1 fiesta, starts, idles and drives fine but when on boost its not responsive at all , after reading through other threads for hours on end i am fairly sure its running very lean due to faulty wiring to the charge air temp sensor or a faulty throttle position sensor? any ideas on how to test either of these or anything else it could be?
thanks in advance safechav!!!!

running just under a bar, holds it fine,
no smoke or rattles, turned on ignition and moved the throttle and it made a slight click, like a relay but quieter?

it must click with ignition turn on or off, no matter. did you opet throttle and pull throttle cable and see if click?

yeah like i said ignition on, ear to switch, open throttle, hear a click, like an electric switch or relay clicking on. is this right?
i thought it was but the more i look into this the more i realise i dont understand about the car i have owned for the past 4 yrs!
its really starting to annoy me as i dont wanna drive it for fear of killing it and there has been some nice cold sunny days lately!

SCS near Peterborough is probably the best/nearest place for you.

Sounds like you night have retarded ignition timing.

Before you take it anywhere i would be unplugging all the sensors and ecu's and having a continuity testing session to check for broken wires.

You can test the TPS with a multimeter its very easy to do.

Sorry mate i meant to post up the diagram for the TPS.

As for the continuity testing, you'll need a wiring diagram and to unplug everything as ive said.

For me changing the TPS made the difference, but i was new to RS's then and didn't really know what i was doing to be honest.

We did loads of stuff to it cos it was all cobbled up but i seemed to get the performance back when i changed the TPS.

The timing can also be a big influence on it i believe, MFI is pants

Check the belt timing its so easy on a CVH

Was the dizzy played with at all?

You can still get them, when i was doing mine about 5 years ago i paid £40 odd for one, but then fixed the old one so i sold it on eBay.

Test it first though.

99% sure timing is ok.
had noticed a broken wire to charge air temp sensor and
thought that must be the cause but i have repaired it and
made no difference. timing is perfect on a timing light, that
good enough? got a vernier wheel fittd too.

dunno mate, and does yours boost up and pull ok wiith sensor
not connected?
why isnt it connected anyway?
i thought it was like a safety in if your act gets too hot it
would cut the amount of fuel delivered to stop you cooking things?
or am i totally wrong yet again?
