On a CVH?

I've never used a torque wrench, use a 1/4" drive ratchet, then you can get them tight but its VERY hard to shear them off

Id be more worried about stipping the aluminuim threads then snapping the head off the bolt.

If i had a torque wrench that did torques that low i would use it, but seeing as i dont i always use the smallest ratchet possible and have never had a problem or any leaks

Also the haynes manual says 8-11 lb for the oil pump but I cant see the water pump torque. As they are both 6mm's (IIRC) then both should be of similar settings. Like safechav says a bit of common sense when doing them by hand and you cant go wrong.
