It's at standard ride height at the moment James. Unfortunately the rears catch so I have to either change the wheels or get the rears machined to a different offset (they are ET30 at the moment. Need to be 35 or 38 IMO).

Seems to handle ok for standard height though.

The brakes are 315mm on AP CP6600 calipers so the standard rims are deffo too small. Biggest the standards will acept is 283mm and they just don't perform as I would like.

I tried to choose a wheel pretty similar to the origional ones but obviously there ain't many out there that look remotely close. These are Borbet C wheels and are no longer available.

it probably looks so high because it is sooo clean in that wheel arch, normally its black with shit and gives it a lower impression

Strip it!

Looks absolutely mint, as said needs a tad lowering, and a tow eye cover

What cooler you using?
You wanna get a set of the smoked rear lens (just the indic & reverse) to match the fronts

So how many running in miles have you got left?

Rikki,

It is run in. It runs 5.8psi (0.4bar...standard is 7.25psi). In the dry in 1st gear it starts trying to break traction (215/40/16 Goodyear Egle F1's). In the wet it does break traction and is a little twitchy in second. Not bad for fack all boost if I may say so.

It runs a twin pass GRS at the moment. I also have 3 tow eye covers in the garage.

Daytime piccies will be taken in a few weeks when I have got round to buffing it and getting the decals on etc.

Defo get the wheels machined and drop the car a little bit mate and then it would look stunning! Would look even better with a set of red & clear rear lights tho!

Glad for you that its almost there tho mate, its been a while hey! Love the total delocking on it!

Borbet C's rock! proper old skool style.. Keep them!
Love everything about it, where you going to put the RS sticker's on or just have the stripes? where you going to add the spots and overriders or going for the smoother look?
Your web site with the restro gave me the encouragement I needed to get mine done properly instead patching up or re-shelling. Couldn't believe there where worst shells then the car I just bought! Glad another series 1 has been given the full treatment.

Fook me! This old thread has been dragged back up!!

I haven't got any day time piccies as of yet. I will sort some out soon though.

The car is not as clean in those pictures now. Inner arches are black as fook!

The full sticker set and Ford badges are now on but I still haven't fitted the tow eye cover! The car origionally had front overriders but the brackets are rotton. When I get round to making some more, they will get refitted. SPots are not being fitted.

The Borbet C's, I like them because they are angular and suit the car but they are too wide and the wrong offset. I have a set of coilovers which catch the tyres on the rear yet I need to move them further in to avoid catching the arches. That means they have to go...if they move further in, they will also catch the calipers as well as the coilovers.

The website is well out of date and I can't be arsed to update it!! I have thought about getting someone else to finish it off and make it a bit better.
