WATER PIPES SYESTEM IS DIF CUCULATION ROUTE
BLUE NOT YELLOW INJECTORS
REAR CALLIPERS ARE BETTER
AND THE ARCHES FOR THE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT AND GEARBOX TUNNEL FOR THE FRONT PROP ARE DIFF
200 block is 4wd
205 block is 2wd
2wds are prone to piston slap (offset gudgeon pins sorted this i beleive in the 4wd)
head is slightly different
exhaust manifold is different
depending on year, the oil filler could be different (bayonet type and screw type)
water pump on 2wd has one direction from the front,4wd goes left and right
rad connections are different
l6 ecu on 2wd and l8 ecu on 4x4
brakes up front are 4 pots on the 2wd,and crap on 4wd
interior changed to later spec at some point in 4x4
as did the wheels from lattice to the other snow flake type
4x4 badges!lol
rear diff is 7.5 inch on 2wd, only 7 inch on 4x4
bonnet vents were NOT fitted to 2wd
rear lights deffo on early 2wd cars were orange not smoked
injectors changed from yellow to dark blue
thats all off the top of my head at the mo
hope its of some help

Engine:
Head has better combustion chambers
Turbo is more efficient with different exhaust manifold to get rid of vibration problems.
Block stronger
Intercooler a lot bigger
Brakes:
Front: Reverts to sliding calliper from 2wd 4-pot
Rear: Vented discs instead of solid (carrier wider to accomodate)
Transmission:
MT75 gearbox with 7" rear diff (instead of 7˝") and obviously a front diff, with different drive shafts at rear.
Suspension:
Rear beam different, front hubs and dampers different, different spring rates.

.The story has it that the reason they were changed was that Ford colour coded everything that was supposed to be checked and/or replaced yellow, and some monkeys were changing the injectors as part of the service
. So they got changed to blue
.

pete mcrash Not yet Pete, probably wont be untill mid March now. Just waiting on a few parts, so i can send cams down to Ahmed to get them re profiled before i go.
Just mad busy at work go away to Wales for 3 weeks sunday, so might have to pull a few favours to get bits sent down while i am away.

4x4s have the 200 block, which is a development of the RS500's YBD 205 block.
4x4s also had reinforced front wings.
The 4x4 exhaust manifold is slightly more restrictive than the 2wd one.
Leather was an option in 4x4s only.
4x4s have 'features' inline with the 1989 onwards Sierra range (seens as the 4x4 was introduced in 1989), including internal boot release and petrol flap, flush fit boot lock, improved soundproofing and dash illumination. Clear front indicators, and smoked rear lights, and black rear number plate panel were standard fit on 1989 onwards Sierras.
The 4x4 (L8) TPS is a PF09, and the (2wd) L6 TPS is a PF01 - as above, to use one with the other system the outer two wires must be swapped.

Ah, but I have a 2wd saff as well
, so i'm only half gay
Bi , I suppose
To be fair, 2wd and 4x4 cars are so different it's hard to compare them really. I love them both for different reasons, 2wd is just mega fun, much more of a challenge to drive fast, and just feel faster most of the time. And you don't need a gearbox rebuild everytime you boot it in 3rd
.
The escort is awsome as well, loads of grip, can just throw it into corners and it will stick, the package is just superb. I can't wait to get it back to be honest
, but Stu is working his magic so I am being patient
.
So, both awsome cars in their own right

inlet manifolds and throttle bodies are different
fuel rail and pressure reg mountings
abs pumps
anti roll bars tca etc

a 2wd manifold is better in a way
but the 4wd will give you less lag and will be fine upto around 400bhp ive read then its worth chagning to a 2wd manifold for flow purposes
im sure someone will know a lot more about it
