Providing no kids are involved, simple answer. No it isnt.

If you care about your previous, then sort yourself out. Shouldnt make a difference at all.

How would you feel if it were the other way round.

Move on, and get on with your new life, or stop wasting your new girfriends/ boyfriends time

I agree there

Ex's are past so why bring them into your future.

Personally i like to keep ex's at a distance, dont see why they should want to know / or comment on your relationship.

you should not stay in contact with an x unless it for the kids sake

the only exception to this is if your gf has dumped u and u need a shag always easier to get a shag from an x perfic

Contact, maybe, but not close touch, I don't think it's a good idea for anyone involved.

I think it depends on circumstances, I was properly good friends with one of my Ex's for a couple of years (still went climbing with her and her new boyfriend every week), and after that stopped when we had Caitie, I still keep in contact now by the odd email every now and again and she always invites myself and Jen over for a meal on Boxing Day (where she has an open house) every single year (despite the fact that we have never been able to go due to the fact that we always go to Jen's Dad's in Doncaster on that day).

However, I understand that is unusual, as she is the only one of my ex's that I have stayed in contact with . She's just one of those unusual people that are genuinely just nice with no hang-ups or physcological problems .

I would not mind if the Ex was ok with you, but in my experience the first time i met Dave's ex she had a personal dig at me, so got my back up straight away, and it went downhill on her part from there on

It's both of us who are invited . We have always gone to Doncaster on Boxing day though, but you never know, you might be right .

Phil,
Apparently you're hung like a hamster according to your Jen, so I know that my Jen would just laugh at you (like she does me ) .

I find it extremely hard to get over people once I have gotten attached. Worst is my ex at work here, proper gorgeous girl but she's not so pretty on the inside. Still gets to me every time I see her though.
