Cant remeber who it was asking about my mates Cossie that had been sold to a chap in Aus, But he has just had some photos sent to him of the car in its new home.
its arrived mate, but waiting till 1 march altho now the cunts have brought out mtec kit for them i think it would be better to get one with the kit as it looks so much better
My crystal blue one I bought over was F175 HGW so 25 before that one!
dont think it works like that mate
Think it does mate. It was part of a set range of numbers given to a dealership in the HGW area as they were both on F plates. My home town of Basingstoke had HRD for 1988 at the Ford dealership and over the years we went from seeing around 20 HRD plated 1988 cars down to about 3 with 1 living down the road from my parents still.
Selling 25 Fords from a dealership in a year isnt hard.
200-175 = 25 so the absolute maximum difference between the 2 cars was 25, could have been even less if the numbers werent all used between 175 and 200.
what needed doing to the 500 to get it through compliance mate.. i'm planning on moving over in about 2yrs and i'm seriously considering bring my 3dr with me i would be keeping it not selling!
i've heard about 4" ride height and no oil leaks, but not door bars. any info would be great.

100mm is the lowest it can be any point, intrusion beams in the doors, child seat restraints. Depending on the rule it comes in under dictates additional items that need to be done e.g emissions.
Generally Fords are easier to comply than Jap stuff as things like the tyres meet the Oz required spec etc. They are also supposed to have an unleaded sticker put inside the fuel flap.
I would be interested to hear about the 500 too Aaron when you get some time.

Bring it in as a "private import" you need to prove ownership for min 12 months, - much easier to comply, many loopholes available for vehicles owned OS for more than 12 months and bought in by their owner.
Vehicles owned for less than that are bought in as "greater than 15 year old vehicle" and are much more difficult and costly to comply - different set of regs, as several people posting have found. It is also state dependant (interpretation, although it shouldn't be) PM if you need more detail.
