Default project Ral5002 X/Flow powered Mk1 *updated 28.1*

So this now the story of my Mk1 project. Its alittle bit a long term project because i lost the interest for a while, build up a antother mk1 for rally, then i give up the workshop andmove to a new garage and now after 6 month i need a new garage as the owner want it for himself.....

But to put some pressure on me, i start to show you what if have done...and that you ask for updates

At the time was looking for shell for my project, i have a look to lot of Mk1, also that shell. At my first view it was to expensive, but after a while and the lost of parking space i get it a lot cheaper...

So i pick up the car at sunday and drove it direct to a mates small bodyshop. At monday i start to strip it...at lunch it was was only rolling shell...1.0L enging went to the oldmetall.....

My biggest problem was that the shell has to been rolling because there was not so much space as you can seen on the pics. so i must paint the outside first before i start the underside.

first pic i did on tuesday:

stripped interior

wing off

some rust on the innerwing

rust cut out

repairpiece build up

and welded in

under the battery

after sandblasted

rust cut out

new shet welded in

start to cut out for 5speed

the bodyshop and a mate start seamwelding the enginebay

some seamwelding

rear wheelarch enlared about an inch each side

also seamwelded the inside

no more hole for the washingjet (is that the right word?)

before...rust and hole

after:

engine bay get primer

the finish after sealing

enginebay painted:

inside painted outside readfy for painting

car is painted:

first time out of the bodyshop

on the way to my workshop

if you ar intersested more pics of the process will follow

so i recived today the cd from my mate with the rest of the pic of my car.

at my workshop it put it on stands

i start to clean the inner wings front and rear....
but at the time i want to start to clean the floor i decided i am to to old to lying under the car and build up a jig

start with the foor:

who need this?

after removing

more of the floor

so after i quid the workshop last year i put the car to a garage to work on it, but unfortannly the owner want it from febraury for himself so now the car is at my garage at the my house since yeasterday...
