Default Best insurance company for a cossie

Search on word 'insurance' produces no posts

Hence, even though probably been asked a million times before can anyone recommend a good company. Ones I've tried so far:

Adrian Flux - £871!!!

Quoteline direct (online quote) - £724

Elephant - £476 (with my wife on)

I'm 33, got no convictions, no claims and 10 years NCB. Putting my wife on as well knocked £100 of the Elephant quote!

£713 with AA!

I suspect its living in south london that is pushing the premium up.

Churchhill - £793!

Looks like Elephant are by far the best so far.

Does a stainless exhaust make much difference? Will they refuse cover if I have a stainless?

Boncaster Insurance through the RSOC was by far the cheapest for me, less than half the price of anywhere else.

Have gone with Elephant - £516 fully comp with protected no claims. They were by far the cheapest.

Still seems a lot for a 33 year old with 10 years+ NCB, no convictions and no claims and with limited mileage of 3000 a year.

Way too much IMO . I was 26 when I took out my policy (last year). I'm limited to 4500 miles. I had no NCB to transfer as it's a second car and my policy is £450 fully comp. All mod's declared and there's no increase in premium for the planned stage 1. Boncaster allow you up to 300 BHP with no premium increase. Also covered for track use at RSOC events and includes breakdown cover.

I thinks its where I live to be honest. Got an ex council house which doesn't help and it will be kept on the drive. Moving later in the year but for now gotta except i'm gonna get bent over for insurance.

As long as your car is modified though. I tried for a quote on my 4x4 Saff and they refused as it was standard
