Default 2 questions 1988 xr3i f reg

firstly the handbrake light comes on when im braking on a downhill slope.
checked the brake fluid and its fine any ideas

2nd just realised today that my oil was ridicoulusly low but the oil light wasnt on? how low on oil does it have to be before it comes on??

your brake fluid IS low , had a simlair problem on the missis Eclipse going down a really steep slope , first inspection the fluid seems of a reasonable level , but it needs to be topped up to the max

I need to keep mine above the max about 1/2" to stop this happening(sapph cos).
If the oil light comes on you have already done damage, it comes on with lack of pressure not quantity, usually around 5psi by which time your engine is toast.
