Now! this is an odd request, but the previous owner of my car attempted to take the steering column out on his luch break (30mins). As you would expect, he didnt get it fully out in time, and had to refit it. I dont think its been done properly as the column top shroud doesnt sit level with the bottem of the dash display.
With the column top shroud off so you can see the 2 main mounting bolts/nuts, How far up should the column sit in the recess? With mine theres about a half an inch gap. This also means the top of the steering wheel rim blocks my view of the dials.

Anybody shed some much needed light?
