I can't make my mind up about this so far. I think there's lot of potential in it though, maybe it needs some smoothing for that euro look, and does it need to go even lower?
i know it sounds stupid, but what about losing the skirts and spats. kinda softening the cars look (and taking away its identitiy) to make the wheels look more at home. personally i love it though. and maybe drop it more
looks very nice mate in some pics but then some others the wheels look far to small.
will be buying an escort gti soon as a daily runner
what they like fuel wise etc and anything to watch out for?

I got a mk6 si as a runaround, same car, same engine, without the interior and skirts, these things go on forever, petrol's pretty good as long as you drive it below 4k, eats it after that! Lower arms(wishbones) are crap and go all the time only real problem with mine!! Go even more when lowered aswell
, i've had mine 2years, done 30k and had no real probs, new clutch at 80k, and a exhaust a 60k, but was the orginal on it! Good cars suprize's a few people to, i love mine!

Before it was lowered it looked silly but now its lowered it looks alot better and i actually like the wheels, perhaps a little small for the mk6 escort but as said its different, ive never seen them on a GTi
And talking generally about the reliability, ive had my GTi for about 2 years and i use it every day, starts first time no matter what the weather, only things ive had done is normal stuff like brake pads, brake pipes, discs, and recently a new indicator stalk(which cost peanuts) and thats it, never put anything in the engine apart from some water for the washer bottle, it never needs oil/brake fluid/power steering fluid/ water
Only time it uses petrol is when i do long journeys really, other than that it doesnt drink much at all
