will 8x17 et40 with 214/40/17 fit on a series 2

 

They will hit the inner arches at the very least IMO.

 

That sounds like a recipe for disaster to me.

Bit too wide really, especially on the ET40 offset, but a lesser offset will mean you get MAJOR scrubbage on the arches

 

dunno the offset on mine but i have 215/40/17's on mine, they did used to rub on the outer arches, so i tidyly cut out the lip on the arche from underneith, and nowthe dont rub at all, only time the touch the inners is if i put full lock on, in they only just catch then..
