just been having a look at the latest members and there are so many banned almost immediatly,bet theres 50 in the past 7 days,and noticably a lot of dubious names and locations?surely its gotta be some dodgy erm people and the mods and or stu&pet are on form or are there just a lot of arse's joining up lately?got me thinking,take a look,dont forget to change view to desending or you will be there all night like i almost was

You would be shocked how much time and effort we put into combatting the spammers mate,I have banned over 50 in the last seven days....

Luckily,now i`ve found out how suss em out i can usually ban them before they even activate the account....

They dont actually log in to any forums just exploit some known routes

1 person can set it to log in upto 100 times over a period of xx days , with a totally new account

its ok if they caught quick i had one the other night one username 35 spam posts to go through and not all weresas easy as delete the whole thread some had to just have that reply deleted from a thread

I had a personal record recently of 117 spam posts binned in one day...

 

and i thought it was just the language and alike that had to be kept an eye on

what they get or try to get outta doing this then?not too clued up with the tech stuff with computers!

 

They get paid by the Porn sites to distribute these spam links everywhere

rob i dont think are pc generated no more the ones ive shifted didnt seem to be and i think phil has tried again this morn

 

we had one that signed up and was then posting random messages, by using words from other replies and just regigging them

at first we thought soemone was just a terrible speller until someone else figured out it was a spambot

whats the point of them just coming on and type "im a spammer" etc

Ahh the "I AM A SPAMMER" bit is what we put on some off the post`s when we edit it to remove their porn link matey...

 

if pet just introduced a random code to type in at the point of registration it would do away with the problem!!

 

He has done mate,the bots aren`t getting through anymore,these are real people who register and post the links themselves....

 

ah so they actually spam the site with links to stuff, you just remove it n type something in its place
